Family Info:  I have been married to Charlie for 53 years.  We have a married daughter who is a surgical nurse at Mease Countryside.  Our son is married, has two children (16 and 20)  and works as a radiology technician in the Atlanta GA area.  

 

What did you do before joining Aldersgate?   I wore many different hats.  I have been engaged in church music most of my life with a bachelor’s degree in church music from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida.  At the same time, I was a bankruptcy lawyer for 23 years, a music, math and reading teacher for 10 years, and a CNA providing home care for 4 years. 

 

What do you do for fun?  I lift weights 3 days a week, read, and travel when I can.

 

Do you have a favorite book or movie?  My favorite genre is medieval historical romance.  I like any movie with James Garner or Harry Morgan.

 

Who influenced you most in your ministry or life?  My husband Charlie has been the biggest influence.  Both of our great-grandfathers were Methodist circuit riders in the Appalachian mountains.  We were raised in the same neighborhood and same Methodist church (before it became United).  We started dating when we were 16 and 14.  The ten summers we spent leading Celebrate Jesus  missions around Florida were significant influences on both of us.   He spent close to 30 years as a lay speaker and delegate to Annual Conference.   The years we have spent serving the same churches have been a great joy.
