When did you join the staff of Aldersgate? September 2023
What did you do before joining Aldersgate? I studied Film and Audio-Visual Communication in college and also took some courses in web development. I worked on a cruise ship as a photographer and later as photo lab manager. After that, I mostly worked freelance doing photography, videography, web development and internet marketing. I’ve recently been working as an assistant newcast director at a local TV news station. I have played bass guitar and sung vocals with a praise band for over 10 years, as well as sung in the church choir as a soprano. I have also performed with the Anna Maria Island Conert Chorus and Orchestra as a choir singer.
What do you do for fun? In my spare time, I paint in acrylic and watercolor and run a small business selling handmade goods.
Favorite books? I don’t have as much time to read fiction as I used to, but I really like magic realism in books such as “The Unbearable Lightness of Being” by Milan Kundera and “One Hundred Years of Solitude” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. These days, I mostly read non-fiction books where I can learn new skills on entrepreneurship, music and art.
Who has influenced you the most in ministry/life? The biggest influence in my life is my daughter. I have learned so much about life from raising her and seeing her grow. Raising a child is almost like living your life again and seeing it through a different lens.
