Reuben & Lydia Schuring

Ethnos360

Reuben and Lydia Schuring are church planters with Ethnos 360 (formerly New Tribes Mission).  For the past 30-years, they have lived among the Ka’apor natives in northern Brazil in the village of Ximbo Renda.  When they arrived a Wycliffe Missioinary had already developed an alphabet, prepared literacy material and was finishing up translating the New Testament into the Ka’apor language.  This was a huge blessing to Reuben and Lydia. Reuben translated portions of the Old Testament to go along with the discipleship material that he is working on today. The Lord’s church plant has roughly 150 people who attend out of a population of 600 within this village.  Their goal is to see a mature church established in the village of Ximbo Renda. This would be realized when the Ka’apor believers take the gospel to the other 17 Ka’apor villages, establishing churches, and discipling believers in these villages, as well as in their own.
