| At Aldersgate we are committed to providing a cross
section of Sunday morning Bible study classes for furthering Spiritual growth
for Christians of all ages. We hope after sampling from our varied menu
you will find a group where you feel at home.
9:30 Sunday School Classes ADULTS Living Waters : Emmaus (Room F2-4 combined): (This class will not meet during the summer, they will resume the first Sunday after Labor Day of September 2008) Jim Rutherford leads a lecture exploration of the Bible...or as Jim likes to put it, "Me talking and you trying to get a word in edgewise!" Using the Holy Bible as their only textbook, Jim leads the class through a verse by verse study, adding comments and directed practical application to the modern Christian life.
CHILDREN Sunday School Starts Back on August 17th Summer Children's Church June 1 through August 10 During the 9:30 service over the summer, kids can join their parents in the Sanctuary for praise and worship! After worshiping together, kids will be dismissed to Children's Church for the remainder of the service. This is open to a small age group of children, ages PreK - 2nd grade. Nursery (Room E-Nursery 1) This is for children from ages birth through 3 years. Whether your child just wants to be rocked by one of our nursery attendants or play with the other toddlers, our nursery provides enough space for both. Most of our toddlers, though, would rather play fireman or cook something up in the play kitchen rather than sit still to be cuddled. Occasionally, the kids will settle down for a story or a video, but mostly are allowed to be as creative and imaginative as they want to - and just have fun. Each week a Bible story is shared with the children. The Nursery is available during all 3 services. Pre K-5th Grade (Teal and Yellow Room and Rooms E-1,2,3,4) Children get a chance each Sunday to interact with their peers through a variety of fun activities. Each class follows its own Bible-based curriculum. The children listen to stories until they are old enough to read, then are encouraged to assist in reading, often directly from the Bible. Each story is then applied to their lives with discussion questions, activity pages, crafts, and games. When classes finish early, you'll often find the children letting loose on the playground. 11:00 Sunday School Classes ADULTS Men of Iron(y) : Small, but mighty group of men meet for free flowing discussion directed as the Spirit moves the class. Virtually NO topic is off limits from car repair to scriptural exegesis. What are the philosophical and moral implications of the Temptations of Christ? Why was Jesus not always immediately recognized after the resurrection? And what type of car would Jesus drive are but a few of the topics known to be explored. YOUTH Middle School and High School (Room F-5): Bible study and discussion. Middle School Youth will have Sunday School this Summer at 9:30 am in the Youth Room on: June 22, June 29, July 13 July 27, August 10, August 24, August 31
