Miriam Cox
Contemporary Worship Leader
Hometown: As a pastor’s kid, I’ve lived in a lot of places, but I always associate South Bend, Indiana, as the place where I was from!
Family Info: I’m lucky enough to be married to my best friend, David Cox, since 2017. I have three siblings: Elisabeth, my sweet and sassy little sister, Alex, my funny and extroverted little brother (and twin to Elisabeth), and Daniel, my fun loving and lighthearted youngest brother.
When did you join the staff at Aldersgate? July 2018.
What did you do before Aldersgate? I have directed and created several children’s and youth choirs, one of which I still run during the school year! I’ve been a piano instructor for over 5 years, and it’s been equal parts fun and challenging, though I wouldn’t change it for anything. My most recent work was actually as interim Choir Director for Aldersgate.
What do you do for fun? I am a great fan of video games, and play as often as possible! I am also an amateur costumer (you can occasionally find me out and about as The Winter Soldier!) And greatly enjoy going to comic cons and public events in costume with my friends. I also love all Marvel, Star Wars, and Harry Potter movies (y’all are welcome to geek out with me anytime.)
Favorite books? My favorite book series of all time has got to be the Harry Potter series. Although I adore fiction in almost all of its many forms, I also enjoy the book Do Hard Things by the Harris Twins and The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom.

Who has influenced you the most in ministry/life? Alex A., who mentored me in worship leading, planning, and general Christlike attitude, and whose words of wisdom still inspire me today. Joe, Calli, and Alli, my friends who are family, who remind me often to laugh and follow my ambitions wherever they take me. David and Benjamin, who keep me humble and kind.
