United Methodist New Life Center – Delbert & Sandy
Delbert & Sandy Groves are the founders of the United Methodist New Life Center in Zambia. They have been serving in Zambia since 2000. Before that they served in the neighboring country of D.R.Congo / Zaire since 1991. They are commissioned Global Ministries of United Methodist missionaries and members of the Florida UMC Annual Conference. They have four sons now residing in the USA. They love the work God has called them to and they’re deeply thankful for the opportunity to serve God, the church, and the people of Zambia, Africa.
New Life Center Zambia is a ministry of the United Methodist Church.  Zambia is located in central Africa, just south of the equator. The New Life Center helps facilitate a development ministry to equip believers to respond to the Great Commission. This is done by training people to be leaders in their community in areas of spiritual education and community health development.  Areas of focus are training in evangelism, discipleship, Bible study, and teaching skills, as well as nutrition, maternal and child care, home care, and prevention of basic diseases. The New Life Center also offers free education classes to orphaned and vulnerable children to help them pass secondary school exams and provides skills needed to find employment. We also provide mobility to the disabled through the Personal Energy Transportation (PET) Program. Christian Outreach Center – Shannon & Justin

Shannon Tellez is the new director and her husband Justin Tellez is the new assistant director at the Christian Outreach Center (COC). COC has been operating since 2001 and is directed by a board of 5 members represented by different churches and denominations. The volunteers/workers are qualified Christian individuals from all walks of life. Their dedication and burden for children, youth and their families is what makes them unique. They perform various responsibilities: Bible teachers, bus driver, bus workers, food prep workers, tutors and more. The Center operates solely on volunteers and donations from the community and partnering churches like Aldersgate.

United World Mission Partners – Paul & Dori

Paul & Dori Pittman are our missionary partners of Aldersgate, serving with United World Mission (UWM) for over 23 years. Paul & Dori were originally assigned to serve as church planters with the Quechua people of Bolivia (who were considered at that time the largest unreached people group in South America), and served there for ten years. After that term they returned to the U.S. and served on UWM’s mobilization team and field leadership for three years. In 2005, the Pittman’s began coordinating UWM’s Cuba Partnership Project. They then served in Costa Rica for the past eleven years as regional leaders and Cuba partnership coordinators. Currently, Paul & Dori are stateside helping their college age children adjust to life in the U.S. (a life that is completely foreign to them), continuing to serve as coordinators for the UWM Cuba Partnerships, leading teams into the island and serving as liaisons and project facilitators.

Champions For Life – Terry & Pat

Terry & Pat Carlson operate Champions For Life (CFL) where Kids Camps for Foster Children are held during the summer months in Michigan. Teams from Aldersgate have volunteered at these camps for the past 7 years.  The Carlsons also minister internationally working through Mantle Ministries which they started in 2005.  The purpose of Mantle Ministries is to serve, train and empower ministries whom are on the front lines locally and across the World.  They’re involved in leadership training for pastors, establishing and training leaders for children’s ministries, facilitate VBS programs and offer counseling as well as marriage and parenting classes. Mantle Ministries is part of New Life Church, a Non-denominational Church where Pat and Terry worship.
International Street Kids (ISK)

John founded International Street Kids (ISK) in 1990 working with street kids and orphans in Brazil.  Today, ISK has staff operating in Eastern Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and Southeast Asia. Through ISK thousands of children who had no home, no family to call their own or worse yet family that sold them into sex slavery now reside in a children’s home or at a discipleship training center where they are cared for and taught the Word of God.
Recently John was in Cambodia, SE Asia and he wrote about Mia, an 8-year-old girl whose mother gave her to a local brothel in exchange for $30 a month.  This ministry changed the course of Mia’s life. An arrangement was made with her mother whereby ISK would provide a monthly food basket and in return Mia would be cared for at the ISK “Safe Place” Project.
