Hire a Youth Fundraiser

Spring Break is just around the corner and our youth are going on a mission trip to the Atlanta Dream Center. There we will minister to, and work with the homeless, children that live in the projects, people riding the train, women caught in trafficking, and many other people groups who desperately need to hear the good news of the Gospel. This will be a life changing event for our youth who are attending and I am confident that they will come back with a desire to see change right here in our community; but we need your help.
The cost for this event is $400 per person, and many of our youth will have to fundraise all of that money. Here is where you can help. We don’t want to just ask for money, but rather earn it, so we will again be doing the “Hire a youth fundraiser.”
The details are as follows; you can hire a youth to do any kind of job or chore that does not require a special skill and could be performed by someone in middle school. For example, cutting the grass, trimming hedges, cleaning out gutters, organizing a garage, raking leaves etc. would all be things you could hire a youth to do. The cost to hire a youth will be $25 per hour per youth, with a $50 minimum per job. So if you need you leaves raked in your yard and one youth could do it in two hours or less it would be $50. If it would take two youth two hours it would be $100, etc. This way our youth can raise enough money to go on the trip in time (all mission trip money is due by March 21st and we leave for Atlanta March 26), and you get your yard raked or gutters cleaned without getting your hands dirty.
If you would be interested in hiring a youth, please email Pastor Jeremiah at jeremiah_garrett@yahoo.com, or call the church office at 727-391-0218. Thank you for supporting our teens as they prepare to minister to the people of Atlanta.

July Mission Trip to Champions for Life Kids Camp
in Detroit, MI
There will be an application filled out by everyone and background checks done on all volunteers. All volunteers must be 18 years old or older. The cost of the trip will include an airline tickets to Detroit, 2 nights in a hotel (we can share rooms), background check, team t-shirt and you will pay for a couple meals while we are in Detroit. We will leave Tampa on Saturday morning, July 7 and will return Saturday evening, July 14.
Sunday morning we will attend church and then head to camp to prepare for the kids arrival on Monday morning. You will be a Camper Buddy and will have one or two kids to spend the week with. You will never be alone with the kids and will have plenty of support as you help the kids make memories doing all of the various activities. The best part of camp is being able to introduce them God, who will always be with them.

There is mandated training for all volunteers and DCF in Michigan requires a certain number of hours for all new volunteers. This training will be available here in Florida and will be taught by the directors of the camp. Most of the time we do the training online. These kids are wards of the state of Michigan and have been abused, abandoned or neglected. The training will help prepare you as you minister to them and spend time the normal daily activities with them. Our job is to just love them.

This is the 16th year the camp has been there and our 8th year going.
Go to www.visionhope.org to learn more about this camp and watch a video that will explain the heart behind this camp and give you a glimpse of what it will be like.
If you are interested we will have a meeting on Sunday, January 21 in the KidsCity Room at 10:45am. An application and $75 deposit to hold your place on our team will be due no later than Sunday, January 28.
